This major gathering of fiddle players was established in 1983 and is held annually in The Highlands Hotel, Glenties. This popular event is for anyone interested in fiddle music and the formal programme includes classes, a concert with special guest fiddle players, talks and occasional recitals.

ILLUSTRATED TALK – James Hill (1810-1853) ‘The Paganini of Hornpipe Players’, with Graham Dixon.

Graham Dixon is a Northumbrian piper who has written an excellent book on James Hill and his music. James Hill was the foremost fiddler and composer on Tyneside during the mid-nineteenth century.

Donegal Fiddlers Concert

One of the main focal points of the weekend is the Donegal Fiddlers concert on Saturday night. This year will feature performances by Roisín and Ella McGrory, Peter Campbell, Claire Friel and a very special guest from the North East of England, Stewart Hardy. SEE EVENT FOR DETAILS

For all Festival events, tickets will be available for purchase at the venue on the evening of the performance. To avoid disappointment, however, please plan arrive at the venue at least 20 minutes before the advertised showtime.
