The Ghostlight Sessions
Nikki Pollock, Dean Maywood, Without Willow & In Their Thousands
Date: October 04
Venue: Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey
Time: 8pm / Cost: €8
This is the first in a regular monthly series of quality live original music nights, curated by Dean Maywood and Nikki Pollock.
In days gone by there was an old theatre tradition/superstition whereby a single bulb was left out and kept lit overnight. This was done to ensure that the theatre was never in darkness in order to keep the ghosts and spirits that dwelled within happy.
Joining curators Dean Maywood and Nikki Pollock (Mojo Gogo) in this inaugural Ghostlight Session will be highly rated local acts In Their Thousands and Without Willow.
In Their Thousands have released four EPs since first coming together in 2012. Epic songs such as Carrickatine, Tear It All Apart, Cheer Up Its Only a Dream , The Old Man and The Sea, and many others – are the work of an ensemble possessed of unique power, virtuosity and creativity. Over the past 12 months, they have been writing and recording material for their first full- length CD, due for release later this year.
Without Willow are singer Karen Kelly from Letterkenny and virtuoso guitarist Simon McCafferty from Drumkeen. They released their debut EP, Without Willow, earlier this year.
Tickets for this event are available from The Balor Arts Centre, Balybofey.
