Between Land and Sea, Reflections on the North West Coast II

This exhibition invited artists to submit work that reflects on the deep ties between the environment and the lives of those who live who live along the remarkable Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim coastline.

Renowned for its ancient cliffs, expansive beaches, crashing waves and hidden enclaves, the region has inspired and captivated artists for generations. Its rugged shorelines are a testament to the enduring power of nature and its profound influence on the traditions of coastal communities. It is a place of contrasts, where isolation meets connection and resilience is woven into the fabric of everyday life

The featured works engage with the challenges and possibilities of living in an ongoing dialogue with the sea, the impact of the ocean in shaping local culture and reflect on the environmental and ecological preservation of our coastlines.
