Cark Angel

Cark Angel is a brand-new theatre show for children by Little John Nee, one of Donegal’s best loved performers. It’s the story of a young girl who is evacuated from wartime Glasgow to stay with relatives in the quiet rural community of Cark Mountain in Donegal – told through music, song and storytelling in Little John’s own inimitable style.

Little John Nee is a writer, theatre maker, storyteller and musician from Glasgow and Letterkenny. Though now based in Galway, there has always been a strong Donegal dimension to his work. His most recent works include Johnny Gotta Bus Pass, The Arts of Gentle Punk and Zeitgeist Jukebox. Rooted in tradition but wildly imaginative, John’s performances carry the spirit of vaudeville, punk, folk theatre and magical realism – often in the same show.

Cark Angel is the product of an Artist’s Residency which Little John completed for Donegal County Council, through this summer and autumn.
