Drumshee Days Series 2 : Episode 2 The Big Day Out To Knock
Music and Production by David Ison
Following on last year’s hugely successful Festival weekly online series, Maura Logue and David Ison return with Drumshee Days – Series 2.
Nora Gallagher, the Cloakroom Girl at Drumshee Parish Hall and the star of Series 1, is double jobbing. She now works for ‘the Bol ‘Nancy Dolan’ at The Rainbow’s End Hotel, where she offers her take and observances on the various characters that visit the popular local hostelry. The 1960s have arrived and modern Ireland is encroaching on Drumshee. We observe the changes in a small rural town land, when Donegal had a slower pace and a quieter mood.
Maura Logue plays Nora, with David Ison supplying suitable mood music from the 1950s and 60s, on acoustic guitar and vocals.
Maura Logue is an actor, playwright, theatre director and producer from Donegal. Founder and artistic director of Dark Daughter Productions, she has created many memorable theatre works for the Festival including 2019’s The Housekeeper and 2016’s Mother Courage.
David Ison is an Amerian composer, guitarist and singer, now living in Donegal. A firm believer in the healing power of music, he issued his highly successful series of Chakra Sound System compositions in 2012. He recently released a CD of new compositions, Behind The Mask, inspired by the writings of W. B. Yeats.
