Ella Bruton is a young Donegal fiddle player from Inver. Though still in her 20’s, Ella has been playing the fiddle for many years. She has recently graduated from her Bachelor of Music studies at Queen’s University, Belfast.
Tara Connaghan is a traditional fiddle player from Glenties, who counts Vincent and Jimmy Campbell as major influences on her playing. She devised and hosts the popular, award-winning podcast, In Tune with Tradition – Perspectives on Session Etiquette in Irish Traditional Music (www.sessionetiquette.com) and is a founding member of the acclaimed all-female group, SíFiddlers. Tara’s recordings include Donegal Fiddle with SíFiddlers and The Far Side of the Glen, with Derek McGinley.
Paul Anderson is one of Scotland’s best known fiddle players and a leading exponent of the country’s North East fiddle style. He is a top-class performer, a prolific composer of tunes, a teacher, an academic and a noted musical historian. A native of Aberdeenshire, Paul learned his music from among others Hector MacAndrew, who claimed he could trace his musical lineage back to the great 18th century Scottish fiddler, Neil Gow. He has recorded eight solo albums, tours extensively and has performed for royalty, King Charles and Sean Connery among them.
