Traditional fiddle player Zoë Conway is one of the most renowned musicians and composers in the country. She was recently appointed Associate Artist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. John McIntyre is a virtuoso traditional and classical guitarist who has a strong connection to Donegal, his father being from Cill Chartha. In the early 2000s, he was a member of the popular Donegal rock band, The Revs.
Described by the BCC’s Mark Radcliffe (The Folk Show) as ‘Simply one of the best folk duos on the planet’, Zoë and John have released many outstanding recordings to-date including their most recent, From a Forest to a Fiddle (Forais go Fidil), which they performed in full with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, in a sold out performance at the National Concert Hall in November 2023.
They perform widely throughout Ireland and internationally, both as a duo and as part of a much sought after quartet with Scottish singer Julie Fowlis and Irish musician Éamonn Doorley.
Accessibility Note: Donegal Castle is a historic building, with access to the Great Hall by Stairs Only.
