The Donegal Fiddlers Glenties Gathering – TALK: The West Highlands Fiddle Style

The 41st Annual Donegal Fiddlers Glenties Gathering  – This major gathering of fiddle players was established in 1983 and is held annually in The Highlands Hotel, Glenties. The popular event is for anyone interested in fiddle music and the formal programme includes classes, a concert with special guest fiddle players, talks and occasional recitals.

Ewen Henderson is a fiddle player, piper and Gaelic singer from Fort William, Scotland. Ewen started learning fiddle at the age of five, under the great Angus Grant. He was a member of the Battlefield Band from 2010-2014 and is a founder member of Scottish traditional innovators Mànran, with whom he has performed all over the world. Ewen is also keen shinty player, the Scottish field game closest to hurling.
